Very Rev. Scott E. McCue, V.F. was appointed Pastor of St. Thomas More in June of 2011. Fr. Scott was ordained a deacon on April 1, 2000 by Bishop F. Joseph Gossman at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Raleigh and served as a deacon from September of 2000 through May of 2001 at St. Ailbe Catholic Church in Chicago. Fr. Scott was ordained a priest by Bishop F. Joseph Gossman on June 2, 2001 at St. Thomas More in Chapel Hill. After ordination he served from July, 2001-July, 2002 as Parochial Vicar of St. Thomas More. In 2002 Fr. Scott was appointed Administrator of St. Ann Catholic Church in Clayton and became Pastor of the parish one year later. In 2007 Fr. Scott was appointed Asst. Principal for Spiritual Life at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh. From 2009-2011 he also served as Priestly Minister to Our Lady of the Rosary in Louisburg. Since 2003 Fr. Scott has been the Catholic Scout Chaplain for the Diocese of Raleigh. In addition, he serves as Dean of the Piedmont Deanery, Coordinator of Priest Personnel for the diocese and as a member of the Council of Priests. In 2017, Fr. Scott was appointed to the Board of Directors of Cardinal Gibbons High School. On June 27, 2017 Fr. Scott completed his first term as Pastor and became the Administrator of St. Thomas More. On June 26, 2018. Fr. Scott was appointed to a new six year term as Pastor. In 2019, Fr. Scott was appointed by Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama as a member of the College of Consultors. Fr. Scott also is serving as the Coordinator of the Diocese of Raleigh Eucharistic Congress.
