Adult Confirmation Classes

Are you Catholic but not Confirmed? 

If you are 18 years or older, a parishioner of St. Thomas More, and have celebrated the sacrament of Holy Eucharist, you may register for our six-week Adult Confirmation Program. Classes will be held on consecutive Thursdays, October 12 - November 16, 2023 from 6:30-8:30 PM. Adults will be Confirmed on Sunday, November 26, 2023 during the 9:15 am Mass. Please see registration information below.  

NOTE: Adults who were Baptized and desire Confirmation but who have not celebrated the sacraments of Reconciliation or Holy Eucharist are encouraged to contact James Rizza at 919.942.6217 to discuss participation in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

Please plan to attend all six sessions.

Class Times: 6:30PM - 8:30 PM.  Location: Santa Cruz Room in the Parish Center, on the second floor. 

Before Classes Begin:

1. Contact your church of Baptism for a copy of your Baptism Certificate.  (Or this form can be sent to the church of your baptism if you cannot obtain your original baptismal certificate.) Please send your certificate to Maureen McInerney.
2. Choose your Confirmation Sponsor. Please follow these church guidelines when selecting a Confirmation Sponsor.  Sponsors must be:

• a member of the Roman Catholic Church who is at least 16 years of age
• not a parent of the person to be Confirmed
• a recipient of the three sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist
• a Catholic in good standing
• in a marriage recognized by the Church as valid, if married
• living a life consistent with a single person as defined by the Church, if unmarried.
